Oh my that was gross!

Ok so my wife says gee your fish tanks are stinky today. Yeah it smelled a bit I thought so I do a few water changes but it wasnt bad in them really. Just before I went to bed and shut the tank lights off I see a container has been spilled and is upside down. Oh No its the White worm culture I started weeks ago to feed my betta. A mix of peat moss water yeast cheerios dirt and mostly worms. It reeked!! My kid has a dog I love named Goober. He is a riot so loving but a total comic cuz he does not think..ok he is really stupid but he is cool. He is also notorious for eating anything. Well most of it was gone and he ate it and worms in the carpet EEEww. So I throw it off the back deck and clean up the floor. Just as I finished I realized lovable Goobs had been giving good old me a big kisses. Oh no. Lovely. Took a shower. Not a pretty sight. I cant ever have a white worm culture again Scarred.

My family made me take them out of the fridge. Apparently one of them was looking for leftovers and was a big sissy and nearly threw up. They made me move them. They grow ok at room temp if kept in the dark from what I could tell cuz there were hundreds and hundreds of them thriving for sure.

This is why I am afraid to get a culture of anything going.....I have seen too many sci-fi movies where cultures run amok......hell I keep a sharp eye on sea monkeys aka brine shrimp when they are growing

Thats sooo nasty! I get why your family doesn't want them in the fridge though. I don't even like seeing frozen blood worms when I go to get ice cream (I do that A LOT)...
