30L (8g) tankmate suggestions

Hi everyone

I have recently bought a 30l tank (rectangular shape but with rounded edges on the front) and I haven't set it up yet. I am thinking about getting some tankmates to go with the Betta in there and was wondering if you had any ideas? At the moment, I'm considering getting a few Ember Tetras and possibly a couple of Otos. Would these fish be suitable or are there better tankmates?

No octos and tetras are iffy. They need to be in a school and their bioload adds up. I would agree with WhiskyHands, shrimp are your best bet.

I've never really been a fan of shrimp, they kind of creep me out. Ember Tetras are really tiny so I don't think they would have much of a bioload, but then again, Tetras are only effective when in schools in a larger tank. Are there any other fish you would recommend? What about Corydoras?

Can you post the dimensions of the tank.
If the tank is flater it sould befine but if its to high the bottom would be to small for the corys.

I agree with nicolass. My 15 gallon is a column, and it affected the kind of fish I was able to choose.

You would ned at least 4 Cories and their bioload isn't small.

The tank is roughly 15" wide and 11" deep, but I'm unsure of the height. I will ensure the tank is filtered and maintained sufficiently to eradicate bioload issues.

Yes it would be good for corys get at least 5 as they like to socialize with each other.

Ok, thank you. I've looked at Cories in the store before and they are cute little things. I'm assuming with a Betta and 5 Cories I would be stocked to the limit?
