Okay well, I promised no more Betta's because I really don't have the room left over. I have my divided 6.6 and have two unused smaller tanks- 1.5 gallon bowl, 1 gallon hexagon. These really aren't fit for long term betta keeping so that's why I never intended to get another fish. Too bad for me, I guess. ;P I say "rescue" because I don't consider anything bought an official rescue, but I saved him regardless, and I love him.
I went to Tennessee to see my very best friend and do some rat trading, sadly it's a six hour drive so I can't do it more often, but we had a good time and wandered around some. We went to Cookeville to meet up, which is 5-6 hours for me and 2 hours for her, and met up at Petco because it was easy to find and I love wandering around in there. It was adoption day so naturally they were stocked full of people and normally before adoption day they will clean all the tanks, clean all the rats, clean all the bettas, ect. At least maybe that's just our Petco here in NC? I'm not sure, but when I went in there were FIVE dead fish, and TEN yellow waters, and only about twenty fish there total. The boy I got was picked out by my best friend and bought by me, I couldn't leave him there, not with how these fish were going to just rot and die. It was 15 dollars well worth it to save his life. He was one of the healthy ones, and I filled his cup up with some purified water and prepared him for the trip by packing him in between rat cages and blankets.
He lost nearly ALL of his color, but he survived, is still fiesty, and I suspect to live a full life with me. He's a halfmoon double tail, i'm unsure of his color, but I promised to not ever get a halfmoon or double tail again. Woops again. xD
P.S. He's in a minimal planted 1.5 gallon bowl for TEMPORARY time, he will get an upgrade my next paycheck. He has a heater and will get a water change twice a week unless I see a need to do more.
P.S.S. Sorry for the bad quality!

Yuck, look at that water! So gross. It was covered in black things that are gross. He lost A LOT of color, he was pitch black with celophane fins when we first checked him out, but after 20 minutes he started to regain it.

This is him after 20 minutes. He's restored to his natural colors now. Also, have any of you seen the "dish face" in bettas? I know it's mostly bad breeding, at least from what I read, any other reasons this happen or?
