Heater / Thermostat Combo?

Has anyone tried out this heater / thermostat combo? Is it reliable?

I don't know anything about it, but there are 29 customer reviews on the Amazon site.

Heaters should never be relied upon to determine tank temp. You always need a separate in tank glass thermometer.

As far as that brand of heater, I've never heard of it.

I like Aqueon Pro (the black ones not the regular glass line), Jager and Marineland Visitherm

Although I don't have this heater, my gut feeling is that I wouldn't trust the built-in thermometer and would probably opt to have a regular, glass thermometer in the tank.

I think someone on here recently got one of these... Maybe they'll stop in and give a review

My guess is that it will work just fine.

You might want to verify that the thermometer was calibrated correctly using another stand alone thermometer.

It dose not have a built in thermometer. It is basically like the top fin. As you adjust the temperature from the top knob the the front tells you what temperature you are adjusting the heater to not the actual water temperature. But I have never heard or seen this brand before

Thanks everyone! I'll just stick with the brands I know. Don't want to hurt my boy with a bad heater.
