XaltD1 that is so nice of you but I would suggest re culturing them if you decide to spawn again.

That is nice. Ty! And I sent you a PM. After I established the cultures I'd be happy to send you back starters of all. :)

I'm so upset it will be awhile (if ever) I try a spawn again.

I adopted a tiny yellow female betta @ Petsmart for .99 today! She is so little, but wasn't listed as a "baby betta", but she's 1/4 the size of the other girls. I have so many nano tanks, I can fatteb her up & pamper her as a way of balming my empty (fish) nest syndrome.

Xaltd1-
Don't give up,we all have our highs and lows.
Give it a month and try again, and when you have those babies swimming and eating, you will have one of many highs!
You sound like a very caring person,I am sure you will succeed ,maybe not next time, but you will.
My first spawn did fantastic, the next one not so good, the third one-so so.
It is the way breeding goes, each time you pick up on something you could have done better, you improve as you learn and we are always learning.
Beware of the breeder who says they are the best,or give the impression that they know it all!!
Bill

Thanks, GH!
I guess I'll have to return the Mercedes I bought w/ the coming fish sales $ (1000 fry x $45 apiece). Just kidding!!!
Do you know that Dad Jack has been building a bubble nest in his QT tank? Too little too late, little fishy buddy. :0(

You can always try again once he heals and then take him out before he can eat them? Stay strong.

Thanks, I'm trying.
We got another foot of snow today!
Maybe spawning will be easier in May/June...

It's been snowing a ton here too! Summer spawns may actually be easier, warmer weather is much appreciated. Good luck :)

Get some rotting leaves from the bottom of the pond or something wet and put them in water with some light but not to much, it has infusoria that eat the leaves and baby bettas are supposed to like them. The water likely will cloud some but you will see little tiny white dots swimming around afterwards. At least that's what I have heard/read

Infusoria is only really good food for a couple weeks- if that. I use 50% boiled lettuce water and 50% established planted tank water for mine. I don't like to use pond things, its kind of risky.
