If he is rapidly loosing his fins but acts normal - he is bitting his fins off.

Yeah, he eats and swims fine. I watched him for an hour and he didnt look like he was biting his tail. Though I cant be 100% sure.
I have had him for a month now and he never did this before.

Also i just went to check on him and he was flaring at the orange crayfish he has in his tank (i put the crayfish in a small plastic box within the tank just in case)
Could that mean anything?

If you have a filter, what one do you have and how do you maintain it.

Are the tips red, black gray, or thinning in any way or just clean cuts?

Only because he is blue, I'm going to ask this, but does he have grey on the edge of his tail?

well, if he is bitting his fins - he may be doing it because the crayfish is stressing him out, or he is bored or just because he can. I have a few that bite and I have never actually seen them do it either.

Here is a pic of possibly my "best" tail bitter. He was labled a delta but I think he was actually a HM. I moved his tank and he stopped bitting.

He didnt like being a HM either. Tried him in everything from a 1G up to a 10G and was a bitter till the day he died.

In this his fins are worse but there is new growth at the very ends

Well, It's not gray, it's brown, but I'm not sure if it's part of his coloration, because he has some yellow mixed in :/
