melafix not working in a 2.5 gl tank

what else can i use i think that my batta is going to dye soon. and i can not find anywhere cloes to me that sells batta fix. how long should it take for the melafix to work on fin rot?thanks is anyone can help me

Melafix is not really needed for finrot. Only plenty of small water changes to keep the water quality in top condition is needed and it should heal up in no time.

How did you dose the melafix? You should use a maximum of 1/5 the normal dose because bettas are evry sensitive to ingredients in melafix.

What make syou say he is going to die/ is he acting normally? Any other signs of illness? Water parameters and temperature? Finrot is not fatal unless it is really very bad.

maybe not fin rot

it is on his tail it is all white and it looks like part of his tail will fall off soon he will not swim anywhere he is very old my mom gave him to me for my son he is probably at least 1.5 to 2 years old. what can i do i feel so bad

there is no heater, i change the water about once a week or if it looks dirty befor then i will change it sooner, and water what? i don't know any thing really about this kind of stuff my mom just brought the fish down here i live with my son in the basement. but she has never had any of that stuff either and he was fine with her upstairs.

the treatment of finrot on a betta using melafix is best done in conjunction with pimafix.
melafix alone will not cure it.

well i went out today and got a small heater changed the water treated it cleanded everything in the tank and added a tank buddy so hopefully that will help
