Is aquarium silicon permanent?

I have a divided ten gallon. Right now I only have one male betta in it (I won't add another betta until I'm sure it's safe). I have a DIY divider, and it kinda slips around. He hasn't been able to get to the other side, but I think if he was motivated he might be able to pass through. I would like to use aquarium silicon, but would I be able to take it off if I decide I want to give each betta their own tank?

Silicone can be removed with a razor blade.

It is removable, but believe me, it is a major pain to get it off.
