I meant with keeping the tank clean. The marineland bio-wheel does such a great job, my 2.5 gal are marinelands with the wheel. They do a great job. Still need to do water changes, but it's never as bad.

Matilda and Tekk, those are nice. Unfortunately I can't order, so I'll look into the stores around and see if they have them when I get money again for more plants for my 10 that's cycling.

Fishy, it's okay. I can find most of them around other places, or ones just like them. It's just like a scavenger hunt. Lol. xD

Could you elaborate on this more?

And it is easy to create your own filter setup on the Evolves. I have not yet.

The flow on the Evolves and Specs can be harsh, so it will just blow around your betta. I've seen people put a pantyhose over the nozzle of the filter that pushes out the water. It makes it easier for your betta to swim that way.

Something slightly off the path most traveled...

It's a 15 gallon though.

I looked at that one but decided against it as it is too tall and hard for betta to go up an down to take a breath, I went for bigger surface area versus tall tanks.

BTW PetCo is having 20% off sale, grab you tanks. Note on Evolve, they are acrylic and may scratch when you need to remove algae from the tank surface later on.

The led isn't the best but its a traditional tank with a sleek hood. I don't like the hawkeyes because the are acrylic. I would rather gave a glass tank. An petcos 20% off sale doesn't bring me in because it still dosnt bring the prices close to my LFS and well I hare petco

That's the tank I have right now for my betta. The lights on it are terrible. The filter is also terrible... no room for any bio media inside it. Also, the lid on it rattles when the filter is on.

Needless to say, I'm in the process of getting a better tank.

I don't have any problems with mine at all. My lid doesn't rattle at all and the filter is nice being adjustable. I have sponge down with my filter too and am going to add LEDs to my lid. For the price you can't complain. Its cheaper than the original minibow1 I bought my girlfriend and more space

I had the Evolve 8 which is actually about 6 gallons, don't let the number in the name fool you. I immediatley returned it due to the very noisy filter that it came with and ended up with a Marineland 10 gallon bow front which I love and it is whisper quiet.
