Ramshorn snail question

This might be a stupid question, but how exactly do ramshorns reproduce? I am thinking about adding one to my blind boys tank because he lets pellets fall sometimes and sometimes I can't find them to remove them and there is algae growing in his tank now. He's in a five gallon, btw.

I guess my question is if its possible to just add one to a tank and it be like, pregnant, lol. Should I QT a single ramshorn to make sure it wouldn't multiply? Because I don't want to have his tank overrun by snails and I can't add plants because the hood is cheap and won't support them. Plus, he's blind and I don't want to move around decor too much.

I know that if I have more than one they will multiply but I'm unsure if they carry eggs or how they lay them or whatever. If that makes sense..

Thank you. That answered my question. It seems it would be a pretty long QT process though...

Are there any other good types of snails I could use, particularly ones with a small bioload that would clean up algae well? My only issue is that I would have to order any other type of snail online because no stores around here sell them and I already have ramshorns that came in on my live plants. I will probably try QTing a ramshorn anyways, though, just to see if it will multiply.

I heard nerites are good with their relatively low bio load :)

Yes, please. Could you send me a PM? I'd do it myself lol but I have to get ready for work, so it will be about 6 hours.
