Fierce Betta

Curiosity got the best of me, so I fed my Betta a newly hatched sea monkey (my son's reaction: "NOW IT'S MOMMY WILL BE SAD!"). He ate it and spit it back out, but he seemed to really enjoy the chase. Since he doesn't seem to have the acquired taste for them, are there other options for live food? Thanks!

Wow, at first I thought you said a newly hatched monkey!! O.o My betta really likes flies and worms. You can also feed them ghost shrimp, but not all bettas eat them. What about frozen?

He eats freeze dried bloodworms as a snack, but we haven't tried frozen yet. maybe that'll be my next try. Thanks!

They're actually my son's, lol. He pays little to no attention to them anymore so I figured why not. I may try again in a few days and see if he goes for it.

I wasn't sure at first, so I searched for it, and it turned out..it IS brine shrimp LOL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea-Monkeys ,considering that most bettas ( especially fries ) like brine shrimps (BBS). I wonder why your's don't like it

it might be that it's too large for his mouth?

I don't believe that is the problem. It was actually smaller than his pellets. Very tiny. Maybe it'll just take him time to get used to it? He didn't eat his pellets or freeze dried bloodworms at first either, but now loves them.
