Any Plakat lovers out there?

I really got sucked into to betas because of their long beautiful finale. But I have been cruising AquaBid (ALOT!) And have found myself quite drawn to the Plakats. Anyone else out there like this finage style even if it's not as flashy?

I saw him flare once (1.5 weeks ago) before I got him today. I like the fact they can swim more naturally without dfificulties. He has the full 180, and currently just scouting his tank. Soon he'll be like I had seen him be like before.
So, yes, I like them. For their finnage, and the fact they don't have difficulties such as halfmoons or over halfmoons.

I love pk. They have so much energy, and are more active (less fins). Also, I love their compact form and their overall looks. When you think about it, betas were really never meant to carry the long fins. So yes, I love plakats!

They are my favourite tail type. I don't like bettas with longer fins. I think it is a lot of strain to place on such small-bodied fish, and most of the longer fins invariably end up torn, tatty or bitten.

Plus they never carry their fins as nicely when they start to get older.

PK are the only type I keep because I like my fish to look like fish lol. Plus I love their vitality and spunk.
Im not a fan of overdone finnage on many long finned bettas and I think colours look better on pk dont know why, maybe because their colours are packed closely together on short fins instead of all spread out on long fins

I am! I used to wonder why people like PK since I used to think that long-finned bettas are so much prettier. But after I got my first PK, I love them! They have so much energy and spunk, and have beautiful colors too! Plus, I don't have to worry about them tail-biting :) Hooked on PKs and considering only having PKs in the future.

What I think, is if they used the stocky build of a PK (also fighters, giants etc) to that of the longer finned fellas. I also know PK is used to strengthen the finnage of their long finned counterparts. That makes them also useful.

My avi is a koi plakat female (r.i.p)

My Noatok is my newest guy, and the hardest to name, and is my only HMPK. I love him! He's so spunky, and has so much energy. Plus, he's a little Casanova, and always shows off for his neighbor, Tsarina XD
At first, I was also put off by their short finnage and stocky bodies, but Noatok has changed all that. In the future, I hope to be able to adopt more.

I don't have a plakat--but I'm with you. When I first saw them, I thought people were crazy to like them over one with a flowing tail. But now when I see them, I'm really thinking they're gorgeous!
