Cycling and Tetra SafeStart

Hi
I'm 4 1/2 weeks in to cycling 2.5 g with filter, fish-in.
I've heard that using Tetra SafeStart can speed up the process.
Can I add it now in the process? I also use Prime.

Latest readings with API liquid tests are:

pH - 7.8
Am - .25 (never seems to go below this, I change 50% water when it hits .5)
N2- 0 (has always been 0)
n3 - 5 (just got this reading finally today)

I haven't used the tetra product, but I've used the API Quick Start with good success. Just make sure that once you've opened the bottle, use whatever you're going to use within 24 to 48 hours, after that the efficacy seems to be gone. (So don't buy a big bottle, just whatever size you need for immediate use.) Also, I just use it once, I don't re-add it later unless I kill my cycle or something.

(Only happened once, when I added meds without thinking about it...oops.)

As for the Prime, from what I've read on the product website, it shouldn't hurt your cycle at all, and could possibly help it. :)

I used safestart about two weeks ago durning the ammonia part of the cycle. Now two weeks later I have moved onto nitrites. Safestart is hit or miss. Check the expiration date. The one that I have read nothing but good reviews on is Dr. Tims one and only. Some products don't actually have beneficial bacteria in it but instead bacteria that helps prepare the tank for beneficial bacteria

On the tetra website there is a lot of valuable information in the Q and A part on this product. I used it with success. Be aware that (if memory serves me correctly) you should wait 48 hrs after using prime to add it.
