^This is backwards, lol.

Nutritionally speaking, you'll want to start him on something frozen or live if you can't use pellets. It's like saying you'll feed a kid nothing but sweets, because they won't eat their vegetables. The frozen foods are more like meats (like bacon and steak) if we're comparing to human foods. We all know that vegetables are, in the end better, but meat is an alright alternative for a picky eater.

Hope this helps. (:

I understand that for the long term I won't continue his diet of BloodWorms, but would it be a good idea to try the previous advice about allowing him to eat them and trying to sneak in some pellets? I can't immediately go out and buy new food, I'm on campus with no car, but I still want to take the best care of him I can until I can purchase healthy food he'll eat. Too bad I ordered that new food, since it's pellets he probably won't eat those either. And now I'll have two brand new containers of pellets and nothing to do with them, haha.

Oh. Yea that's fine. We all had to do some sort of sneaking for pellets with at least one of our bettas. :P

Haha, alright, thank you. Just checking. I don't want to get him sick on poor nutrition.

At least he's happy with his crummy diet, I just looked over at him and he's already built a bubble nest. What a sasspot.

Just try and get frozen ASAP. Not a life or death thing, but the freeze dried might cause constipation if used for too long. You'll get him to eat. You might try fasting him for a couple of day and offer a pellet. If he refuses, don't feed anything else. Bettas can go a week without food, so sometimes it's just a matter of who is more stubborn/ will give in first.

Fasting him will probably work well. I'm going home Friday afternoon for Easter, and coming back Sunday night (I'll clean the tank before I leave of course). And that won't be too long a break, but should be enough that he can decide if my food is good enough for him. We'll see what happens.
