Question Velvet or natural color?

I recently purchased a beautiful half moon double tail male and I am unsure if the shimmery color on his scales is velvet or his natural metallic coloring. If you are experienced at recognizing velvet please look at the pictures below and let me know what you think.
Thank you.

(I am having trouble getting the pictures to insert) Please bare with me.

The first image link is from when I first purchased him and the second was taken about a month after I purchased him. If this is velvet then it appears as though it has improved from when I first purchased him, perhaps the aquarium salt I have been using. However, if this isn't velvet I suppose the apparent difference could just be a result of different lighting.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi 10asartin and welcome to the forum. Your links don't appear to be working. If your photos are on another website like photobucket, click on the second to last icon above the message bar. It sort of looks like a little postcard. Then copy/paste the URL of your photo into the box and click okay.

To insert a picture, click on the go advanced button beneath the message box. Click on the paper clip icon and then upload the files you need. Then post.

I can see the pictures. I think it looks like natural coloring. He's really pretty. :)

That is odd that some can view the pictures and others can not. I will see if I can correct the issue.

Thank you

I am not an expert- I was trying to let you know your links were not working. However, it looks like natural and pretty covering. If you want to doublecheck go the disease section at the top of fish emergencies they have tips on how to identify velvet which I think involve a flashlight.

Thanks jadaBlu, I have checked the disease section on identifying velvet and I am comfortable now saying that this is just his natural coloring.

Thank you everyone for your input
