Female betta in 10 gal with other fish

We got a 10 gallon tank with some guppies, a glo fish, and ottocinclus algae eater. My sister wants to get a female betta for the tank. Would a female betta be ok to live in there? and could she eat the normal tropical flakes we feed the other fish in there now?

How many guppies? It could work. Ignore it when others tell you that guppies and bettas are incompatible. The oto really should be in a group in a planted tank. I would feed the whole tank new life spectrum tropical pellets (I think they are called that.)

It's not great. I love the new life spectrum brand.

Temporarily. Flakes are not good for bettas.

Gotcha, she already came home with a female betta and I wanted to know if everything would be ok for her to put in with the other fish, otherwise we got another tank

GloFish are genetically engineered Zebra Danios and need to be in schools of at least 6 and a tank size of at least 20 gallons.
