Thinking about Breeding

Hey guys I'm thinking of breeding my bettas soon :)
I've done a tons of research (since the beginning of last year) and wanted to try during the summer, but never got to it.
Anyways I was thinking of breeding my new boy with a good quality female that I do not have yet. Can you guys tell me if he is breeding quality and what bad qualities he has? And what to look for in a HMPK female that would balance out his bad qualities. (I'm not looking to produce show quality bettas, but nice looking ones nonetheless X]
He has four rays and a full 180 degrees spread when flaring. Also his ventrals are a little bent.

Hes lovely!
His tails very round so I would suggest a fem with nice sharp edges, and a nice dorsal with the first ray being the same length as the rest of the dorsal rays since your guys is quite short giving it a "leaning back" appearance instead of a "pushing forward" one
Do you have any side on pictures of him in full flare? In one pic his topline looks good but the other looks uneven, could be the camera angle

Thanks for the reply :) Yes I'll go take another picture X] Lol; his topline looks smooth to me sometimes and bumpy at others.

Color-Excellent and solid.
Top line- Bumpy in one pic, may just be angle.
Anal-Slightly long but not bad.
Caudal- Rounded.
Dorsal- Fairly good.
Ventrals- To hard to see
Overall- A beautiful fish. I would breed him in a second.

For a female, you want a short or balanced anal fin, and has sharper edges on the caudal. Depends what you want the fry's color to be but if you want yellow fry, you will want mom to be yellow because yellow is recessive. Very happy to hear that you have done your research! Good luck.

It's so hard to get a pic of him flaring X] He flares then swims behind his plant and then swims back to the mirror.
I think his topline does look a little bumpy. At certain angles it looks straight though.

His color is emaculate! You could breed with red. You will get all red fry but you may get yellow in your F2. :) or just hold out for a nice yellow female. :)
