Question What is this?

I noticed this filmy looking stuff at the top of my two divided 10g tanks... Any idea what it is/if it's dangerous?

It's kinda shiny

Whenever I mix it up it clumps together, kinda weird...

? ?

I don't know what that's called, but I get it on some of my tanks to. It's some sort of protein scum, is not harmful (as long as the fish can still get air) it's just gross and unattractive. Try installing a airstone.

You can dab at it with a paper towel to get most of it out. Do you use stress coat?

Yeah I use a Kordon water conditioner & ammonia detoxifier. One of my Bettas also made a bubble nest recently, do you think it could be a result from that as well?

Stress Coat can leave some gunkiness in the water if I leave it without
a water change for too long.
