NPT now or maybe later?

Okay I've gotten highly impatient with getting my plants. Boyfriend says we'll go and look around for plants at a store and it hasn't happened yet. I've been wanting to go to PetCo or PetSmart with a coworker but I'm going through some paranoia he has a thing for me and as he's going through a divorce it makes it an even stronger thought so I've decided I don't really wanna go that route.

If I throw sand and dechlorinated water in my 10gal then get plants later, can I just siphon everything out on a day off and plant it? I want to get my... dang fish already!!

I add plants all the time to my existing tanks when I do a water change or at other times, its just easier during a water change. Go for it, set up the tank & add the plants whenever.

Whoo!

Should I go ahead and put in the dirt or leave it out and when I get the plants siphon everything out, keep it, and put in the dirt? o_O

you could just go on ahead and set it up (soil, cap & some water). just don't put any fish in there because without any plants to suck up the ammonia leeching from this soil, your tank will be pretty hazardous for them.
