I recommend Omega one and New Life spectrum if you can find it. I had to order mine off the internet.

I did, too. :/ its hard to find but worth it, IMO. I ordered other stuff that I could not find along with it so I wasn't spending $5 on food and $6 on shipping. Also IMO, VitaChem and Kanaplex are must haves and I had to order those online, too :p (Kanaplex only because it treats diseases that will kill a fish faster than you could get the meds if you had to order online - both are hard to find in stores.)

Thanks dramaqueen and Ayalacookiejar! I'll keep trying pellets and pick up the omega one since we have it locally. I'd also like to get him on a more varied diet as well. Recommendations?

I feed NLSas a staple, Omega One sometimes instead, Aqueon very rarely with freeze dried bloodworms once a week as a treat. Fridays are my fast days. Some people feed frozen food but there's a small chance of internal parasites which I've already had to deal with once so I stay away from them, but frozen bloodworms I know are used often by members here as treats. I would like to get frozen daphnia for my CTs bloat issue but I can't find it.

Alrighty! Thank you so much for your help!
Is there a certain brand of freeze dried bloodworms you get?

I'm not sure what the difference between the different freeze dried brands is, but if we're talking the quality of brand in general, Tetra isn't very good so I would stay away from it (this is what I have, now, but I am looking at getting a different brand). Aqueon is kind of in the middle. I THINK Hikari makes FD bloodworms and they would probably be pretty good. (If Omega One or NLS had them, I would go for those, lol, but I don't think they do.)

My fish won't touch freeze dried anything. Hope your betta is less picky!
