Question What is this growing on my plants?

I might've added too much fertilizer because three days later, this popped up. :/

Can someone tell me what this is? And will it harm my betta? I took it out of my tank and put it in a different one just in case.

Are you talking about the little white things? I'm not sure what the picture is focusing on.

They look like root hairs which would make sense.

Hmm...not really sure what those are. Never seen anything like that but it looks like some type of fungus or other growth...not sure :(

I don't think they are snail eggs, since I don't have any lol. I'm wondering if its some kind of fungus :(

Is it a new deco you put in your tank? The Mopani wood will grow a white gel-like substance, maybe this wood you have (grapevine?) will also grow something. It goes away after awhile. Do you have shrimp? They might eat it.

Can you tell if it's growing off the wood or the plant?

I have no shrimp, just a betta.
This is what the whole thing looks like, I rinsed it out hoping it would just fall off and it did.. sort of, it grew back a little yesterday and I rinsed it today once more.

I hope this is actually doing something, but I think it is only a temporary solution. It looks like its working but I don't want to put it in my tank and risk loosing my little Tales, that's why I'd like to know what this mysterious thing is.

Oh, and yes! This was just bought and it seems to be only growing near the roots. As for the kind of wood this is, I have no idea. Although it seems to peel (accidentally scraped a bit off) and uncover a lighter type of vine thing underneath, it might be grape vine.
