Question Stress Coat?

Is it okay to use Stress Coat as a regular water conditioner?

It says so on the bottle. I must admit, I do add a few drops of Prime when I use stress coat.

I've used it for my VT boy when I found out I ran out of my other stuff on water change day. He's in 2.5g so I didn't want to wait. It was fine, but I noticed it only says chlorine & chloramine on the back. I don't know if it removes heavy metals.

Yes, Stress Coat is a perfectly usable conditioner. However, if you have ammonia in your tap water (most of us do), then I would suggest using Prime alongside. This will make for great water conditions. (:

Haha, yep! I have a total of three different conditioners. Mainly because I don't always need stress coat, but sometimes I forget to add in the Prime. So I use the third one just in case.

I know this is a year-old Thread, but didn't want to start a new one.........my age is showing LOL.

Started using Prime in February. Bought a bottle of Stress Coat Plus yesterday to put into tank b/c our betta looked a little stressed from to high of ammonia. A week and a half ago, had to treat the tank with Jungle Lifeguard All-In-One Treatment for some fungus/rot. Per directions, took out the carbon cartridge, but left in the bio-wheel and left it running. We had to leave our betta in the tank during the treatment. Anyway, we think the treatment killed off some (a lot?) of our beneficial bacteria. After finishing the treatment, our water parameter tests showed that our ammonia level went up to 3 and our nitrites were between .5 and 1.0. Yesterday, put the Stress Coat Plus in and our betta is now mellower and our ammonia level down to 1, but nitrites showing the same (.5 to 1.0.) Have a bottle of Safestart 3.38oz ready to put in to restock the beneficial bacteria that we think we lost during the medicating treatment.

Question is: Can both Prime and Stress Coat Plus be using during a 20% w/c? I have noticed that some people use both while others don't.

I am basically a Beginner (called a "Newbie" today), but sure have learned a lot, but not enough, since starting on this "fishkeeping" journey in January.

Recommendations, PLEASE.
