Question About Free Swimming Betta Fry?

I removed the male from the tank this morning because some of the fry over by the plants were swimming horizontally. They were definitely free swimming, so I took the male out.

Now though, I look at the sides of the tanks and I see at least 50 betta fry clinging to the sides of the tank (clearly not free swimming yet) and I am wondering if I removed the father too early now?

The bubble nest is pretty much gone and I am wondering if I messed up?

I also would like to know if I can siphon the bottom of tank yet?

Don't worry, they should be fine. I am always knocking half my bubblenests and fry everywhere around the tank, and as long as there is something at the surface to cling to, the not quite free-swimming fry will generally stay put.

They probably should be able to sort of swim as this stage and so if they sink, they would most likely be able to propel themselves back up to the surface.

I wouldn't do any siphoning yet until everyone becomes horizontal.

Don't worry, they should survive.

Depending on fry to floor ratio - the more fry means more risk of sucking up fry. But less fry will allow you to maneuver the siphon away from fry. . . . But I'd say wait for a week or so, giving fry time to develop more.

okay thanks guys i'll just start hatching some brine shrimp and keep putting in the microworms for those that are already free swimming, it seems like they may be eating off of the java moss though, that is where a lot of the free swimming ones are hanging out.
