Does my betta look okay?

I can't really see anything wrong, but for some reason his appearance seems off. He is a twin tail halfmoon beta male.

Wow! He's really pretty!

It looks like there's a chunk of his top half of his tail missing. I can't tell if it's fin rot, but I really doubt it. It doesn't look like it could be. I don't think fin rot would take that much of the tail without affecting any of his other fins at all. Would he have been able to tear it on anything? Maybe he just flared too much? Someone more experienced might be able to help you.

He doesn't look like he's going to die lol

He simply looks like he has some biting issues or he got snagged on a piece of decoration.
Is his behavior normal?
And how do you think he looks "not okay?" Because he looks fine to me ^^

EDIT: If he had any sickness of some sort, I'm sure he wouldn't be so spread out as he is. Normally sick and/or dying fish are clamped.

Actually, I had just bought him Saturday. I'm truly not quiet sure what may of happened to his fin, but you guys are right the top looks off. He is swimming fine, and his appetite has not changed and he is behaving like any other betta, maybe he was born with this? :/

And actually, he isn't really yellow. Lol. Maybe the camera gave it a bit of a shine?

Is top half of his tail is torn, that's all. Was he like that when you got him? Maybe he just flared too much and tore it, like my boy did.
