my 3rd walmart rescue

First off, shame shame shame on walmart! If they cannot invest even minimal time and knowledge towards the well being of the live creatures they are profiting from, they should stop carrying them. All the tanks were full of dead fish. Horrible. They were so hungry they were eating each other while still alive. 0.0
The bettas were in disgusting shapes. Every single one in filthy brown water, and many dead and dying. I was so angry, I bought a bottle of conditioner and did water changes myself. Grrrrr. the manager was happy i helped her and promised to have serious words with the live pets manager. She gave me the female in the worst shape since we both agreed she would probably die.
:'(

She's drip acclimating, and I put some prime in her filthy little cup as soon ad we got home.
I hope she makes it. We've named her Charlene, and she got lucky enough to get an npt, since i had just finished setting one up for my food snatching male crowntail. Lol.
no biggie, bought an extra five gallon tank and have abundicies of well established plants from my 55 gallon npt, so my boy will get a npt tomorrow as well.

Im weak. Cant even go in for liquid orchid ferts without *just looking* at the fish. Lol. Wish Charlene and I luck!

Oh yeah, and she might be a he. She or he is barely past fry stage.

Any special care of a baby fishy? I feed nls, and have some omega one. The nls is smaller.
oh, and I've got the tank set to 81.
5 gallon npt with no filter or bubbler, 0 0 0 readings.

Good luck with her. Shame on Walmart.

For babies, try crushing the pellets.

Thanks matt.
Is the temp okay for a baby, or should i go up
a little higher?

My male gets stressed and clamped in temps above 79 so Im not sure how warm to make her tank.

Charlene is doing ok today.
Shes starting to unclamp, and she ate a crushed pellet for me.
She's very fond of her floating plants and hangs out in them all the time.
She also gave her nano marimo ball a few good pokes! Lol in glad to see her getting active, even in short little bursts.

Her coloring kinda looks cambodian which I just love. but she's really young, so who knows what she'll look like when she grows up.
I think she is a crowntail. :)
