Do you think it will be possible to cycle this one? I can not understand if it is plastic or glass though...
Melodica Which one did you buy? is it quiet enough? I wounder if those Whisper filters sycle and what if filter cartrige need to be changed. Do you ever change it?

That's the same tank I have right now, although I'm upgrading to a Fluval Edge 12-gallon this weekend.

The walmart tank is meh. I'm unhappy with the lighting, filter, and lid on it (it rattles with the filter running). The filter is a slight pain to remove, and there is barely any room inside for biological foam pads. As for cycling this tank, I've had a really tough time trying to maintain a reliable cycle. I finally got a cycle going, but I have to be extremely careful with water changes... anything more than 25% seems to mess it up. My guess is that the filter that comes with the tank is insufficient for biological filtration.

Overall, the price for it is reasonable, and it's quite an upgradable tank later-on (you can easily swap out the filter for a better one, and even a lid with better lighting. Also, the tank is glass, not acrylic.

ryancalif Thank you! Good luck in buying good new Fluval Edge! I saw video of it on youtube, it is beautiful.
