My new green HM betta <3

So I went and got my new Betta today

Since the tank won't be here for a week or more, and the weather here is still cold, I used some acrylic canvas to divide my 5 gallon so that the new Betta can have warm water to swim in. Saki, who's tank I split, is not thrilled about this. BUT, I did give him about 2/3rds of the tank still! hehe

So here's a few pictures of my new betta exploring the tank, and a couple of him flaring at himself. Because he did it behind one of the thermometers, I could only catch his tail. It is not quite the 180 of a HM yet, but maybe it's just because he is young. He is 5cm nose to tail exactly (measured him when he was floating right by the tank wall). My full grown betta, who I've had since July of last year, is 7 or 8cm. He won't sit still to let me measure him! grrr

The new Betta is VERY green in irridescence. Without a light on, however, he really is a kind of dull dark greyish color with smokey grey/black and clear tail and fins. I took a video of him swimming with and without light shining on him... if I can figure out how to post it. In the meanwhile, pics of my new betta, and my not so new (and not so happy with me) old betta.

Here's a video of him :) (at the end I turned the flashlight off, so you see how his green is only with good lighting)

I really hope so :D no offense to super deltas, but there's something very very attractive about a HM to me. My older guy doesn't even flare even after I divided his tank temporarily to house the new betta until his tank arrives... but when he occassionally lets his tail widen a bit, I suspect he's grown to be an OHM. It's just too bad he doesn't show that off
