critters that eat white stuff on driftwood

i remember reading that either shrimp or snails will get rid of the fuzzy white stuff on my driftwood but now i cant seem to find out what critter does it. i have a 5.5 gal with 2 anubias and 1 other plant that was unidentified but grows so im happy with it. the driftwood takes up a pretty good amount of space in the tank, so whether or not i would need more than one is also a question.

otos like groups, so I'd have to say no for one in a 5g. A snail or shrimp would be in hog heaven.
