Betta First Aid Kit

Hello everyone!

I'm wanting to put together a Betta first aid kit, and am not sure what to stock it with beside Epsom salts and Aquarium salts. What else would you all recommend?

I would add IAL to that, but nothing else. The trouble with medications etc is that they expire. I would just make sure that your local shop stocks certain meds so you can buy them as you need them. :)

Get Kanaplex. It is really only available online, and it is so crucial in emergencies. Look at the stickies in the disease section, and that should give you a good idea of what general categories of illness you need to be prepared for.

Petco and Petsmart tend to carry some things, so it is worth a visit to see what is readily available.

Sounds good. I wasn't sure if something like Potassium Permanganate was worth getting a hold of, because it seems a little pricey. I just want to have everything first hand, besides medicine that expires quickly.

anyway, motherpeters, I just bought and used my first fish antibiotic and it worked wonders: Maracyn 2. I got it on Amazon. I'm not sure what my boy had, but it was a huge red swollen pimple on his gill. The meds have made it shrink and it is disappearing! It's expiration date is 11/2014. It's good for lots of ailments.
