I have some dwarf hairgrass I want to eventually overtake the tank and cover the gravel as a carpet plant. Somewhere online it recommended using fertilizer to speed up growth? (its pretty sparse in there atm).

What type of aquarium fert should I use? Does this effect water quality/water safety? Its a 10g with betta, 5 neons, 1 cory, and a ghost shrimp.

There's also an anubis (right) and two white ribbons (hiding behind the cliff).
