Can anyone tell me what kind of plants this is?

I got some of this floating plant free from my local pet store. Does anyone know what it is called? and will it work for a spawning tank?

I agree with LBF. I have the exact same kind of plant floating in one of my tanks right now.

Yours looks like watersprite too Royal. It develops different forms if it is allowed to grow either planted, floating or emersed.

Very easy to grow and care for plant.

Rotflmbo, don't worry Royal. You had the same type question, I'm sure they rather it be on 1 thread then spread all around. My question was answered anyway. I have that plant too, stuck it in a tank in the back & forgot all about it, it grew like a weed with no light, heater, plant food, or anything special. One of my favorite plants. I wonder though, it looks nothing like the ones I have floating. Will a Water Sprite take on a different look if planted vs. floating?
