Betta Purchase and Care

Hello everyone. Finally I've found a forum that has had a post
in the last few months.

I've been an owner of fish ever since I was a child. Started with the
standard gold fish I won at the church fair in the ping pong ball toss
and have had fish on and off ever since.


It's great to meet a group of enthusiasts like this. When most people
ask if I have a pet and I answer "yes" dog, cat and bird are the most
likey animal that goes in the blank with this question: What kinda
____________ is it?


I laugh because I think I read somewhere that aquarium fish are the
most popular pets in the country.


Anyway hope to gain some more info from this forum.

I just got renter's insurance..the insurance agent said" any pets?" and I replied yes..fish..he started to mark on the paper no pets and I said "excuse me..I just told you I had fish" he said "they are't pets" I told how much I spent on equiptment etc... I think he changed his mind...especially when I told him if my apartment was on fire I be there with a bucket scoopin them outta there and taking them with me on my way out!

Being a teacher I would have to agree..they are much more enjoyable than Kids..and Mine are college kids!!!!

I admit, most of my friends, when they find out that aquarium keeping is a hobby of mine, they look at funny. But, when you take the time to actually admonish these wonderful creatures, you cant help but admire them and seek a greater understanding of them.

You eventually gain a bond with the fish like dog or cat or any other creature that one takes care of.
