Is it easy to put lights on a glass hood? My fiance and I are looking into getting a house (within 2 years) and I want to set it up then... I know, long time away, but I want it to be cycled, and as far as I know (which is nothing) you need lights for the plants.
Hmmm. Well I have a tank light that has sliders to fit a tank up to 40 gallons. However, my rubermaid fry-housing tub is only 30 gallons long, so the sliders came in handy. I think a tank lid would be less expensive in your case, though I reaaaaaally love those glass lids.
Well the glass hoods lift from both the front and back, but you get a handle to put on the front. Obviously the tank hood with a light in it already has a light, so there's no added expense there. I think I like the glass more simply because I can see my fish from a top view.
