Critiques?

These are the hmpk males I'll be getting soon. What do you guys think? Any advice on choosing mate-matches? (By the way, has anyone ever crossed a salamander with a super black/ black orchid- or know what the offspring would be?) I've been reading about genetics for weeks, and I still feel like I have 100 more years of learning to do before I would be 'well educated' on the topic.

One:

Two:

Three: (excuse the quality of this one- they're snapshots of his video)

Hmmm none of them have very good toplines. Lumpy, bumpy, humpy toplines are what I see. You will need to cross them to females with very very good toplines, if these are all siblings the wonky toplines are probably genetic and may still end up in the offspring regardless of how nice the female is.

The last male has a nice dorsal, the others have their dorsals set pretty far back. The last male also has the best caudal as well. They all have pretty decent anal fins, not too long and pointed. If these were my fish, the last one is the only one I would consider breeding. You're going to have to be careful picking a female, she's going to have a lot of work to do counteracting the flaws in these boys.

ETA: Just a couple examples of girls

This girl has a slight spoon head, she wouldn't be a good choice for you

This girl isn't too bad, not a fabulous topline but decent

This girl has a really nice topline, smooth from nose to dorsal, this is what you want to look for

Betta two is more than likely just going to be a 'pet' if he comes at all.
Betta three was chosen as a 'replacement' for betta two.
And I really like betta one's color. I'll be searching hard for females.

They both have bad spoon heads, the yellows is especially bad. However, yellow looks like hes got nicer finnage than dragon. But if I were you Id go dragon since his body is not as deformed

Clearly, I'm very partial to salamanders. :) If you are choosing between these three, I would say the first is the best out of all of them. Second betta has nice body color but his fin colors are very washed out. The third betta has washed out fin color and body color....so I definitely wouldn't breed the third one.
