Betta Aggressively attacking the aquarium wall

Does anyone have any ideas about this?
He keeps rapidly swimming towards the glass with his fins open while opening and closing his mouth, it almost looks like he is ramming himself agasint the glass. Then he tires and he clamps his fins for a few seconds. Then he opens his fins up again and starts going at it again.
Ive never seen this behavior before, but he is most def attacking the aquarium wall.

Is there a light on the tank? if so, turn it off. I had that problem too but then I dropped the light INTO the tank . No more light, there is some from a window. He no longer sees his reflection and has stoped trying to fight himself.

He can probably see his reflection in it from a certain angle. This is most likely what he is attacking. I doubt he would just be attacking the aquarium wall.

Hmm, I think if you tack something up like paper or black card it may just make it worse.

You could try something like putting a towel along the wall he is attacking and seeing if that doesn't help at least for now.

Do you have any plants or decorations you can move to that side of the tank to stop him from getting so close to the glass?

I bought any aquarium background and that did the trick. Plants help too.

What tank are you using?

It is going to happen. My Betta did this for a week straight, then stopped for a few weeks, and now is doing it again.
