My Betta won't eat bloodworms

We've had our fish for about a week and a half now. I feed him pellets twice a day, and he eats them fine. I've read everywhere that Betta's love bloodworms and they are good protien for them. I thought we would try some, so I bought the freeze dried ones. He wont eat them though. I've tried several times to give them to him, but he hasn't eaten any. He seems to check them out, but then just swims on by. I also noticed that if I put in a pellet that's a little bigger, that he spits those out. Is he just a picky eater?? I wasn't sure if the bloodworms are too big of pieces for him or if he just doesn't like them.

You could try getting the frozen ones and chipping off a tiny, tiny piece of the cube to get a few off of there and feeding him those. As for the bigger pellets does he eventually eat them once they soften up a bit?

Try feeding him different things. Find what he likes the best, then feed him some of that and a few bloodworms at the same time. He may accidentally eat a worm and like it. My poor Serpaes think the Swordtails poo is a bloodworm, so they always eat some Sword poo during feeding. It's kind of sad(and gross).
