Tail type? (PetCo Baby)

I got my baby over a month ago and now I'm pretty sure it's a boy but I'm not sure on the tail. I think it's a VT but I don't know. What do y'all think? Oh an I'm still looking for a name.

That looks like a female to me. The shape is the same as my female crowntail. So that would be my best guess.

Phanta would be a cool name I think :)

I have a petco baby that looks almost identical and it turned out to be a VT girl. So I think girl.

Cute crowntail!

Yeah, those ventrals are pretty tiny, too, so I'm leaning towards girl...

Not sure on the tail type. It can be hard to tell with young, light colored females...

look at how many rays there are in the tail, the straight lines that go out to the end of the tail. If it just splits into two, it's a VT.

Well If it is a girl it's growing a lot faster than my first baby girl Mercedes. I've had her for over three months now and seems smaller then baby #2.

At that size, you won't know a 100% yet. Growth spurt will happen because s/he is in a better home now and getting better food and water changes. One of my spawns are about that size.. they are HMs and they have similar shape fins and I am not sure on their sexes yet.. just best guesses at this point.

I would lean towards Delta tail, HM.. possibly VT.. sex I would lean towards female if I went by width of dorsal and vents.. but again, growth spurt can happen and usually they aren't fully matured (naturally) until 7-9 months of age.
