Are you trying to show us your fish? If so, you can upload directly from your computer to the forums.

Click "God Advanced" below this box.
On the top part of the type box you will see different options - click the one that looks like a paperclip next to the smiley face.

Box will pop up - select "choose file" and then once you have, choose "upload".

The box will stay up (unsure why), and your pictures won't show in the chat box while you are still typing. But once you hit "submit reply" on the bottom your picture(s) will be added to your post and you will be able to view them.

They're both males. Why are they in the breeding tub together?

I'm new to this so, why, if you don't mind me asking? The female now has dark stripes and he is still building the bubble nest. I was told to use the marbled one so, I went with it. Any advice is very much appreciated.

Rosetails can lead to x factor rosetails which is a deformity. When you get too much branching you end up with x factor rosetails.
They have small tails, way too much branching, deformed scales, weak bodies, pale colours and stubby ventrals. Plus it can hide without showing for generations before rearing its ugly head.
If the female has lots of branching too then your chances of x factor babies are increased but if female has little branching you can generally assume youll be safe.

However I bred a pair who both had only 4 ray branching (they were siblings and the result of a cross between a trad pk (2 rays) and a hm with no rosetail signs). 3 fry were x factors and many had scale deformities so you cant tell just by branching whether or not youll get the x.

Anyway the males are beautiful especially the first guy. Keep us updated on their progress, cant wait to see how the babies turn out

Thank you for the reply. I have tried searching for female rosetails and have come up blank. I'd buy those specifically for breeding. I am only finding males. This is my first try and, really, there is so much out there in the net..I never know which is right and which is wrong.
