Is my betta a male or female?

Some people think he's a male? Can you tell me what you think he/she is? She looks female to me.

A bit hard to tell at this angle but looks to be a young male. The tail is larger, his anal fin is quite pointed (however one of my girls has a very pointed anal as well) and it looks like the ventrals will be growing in nice and long. If you could get a side shot it would be a bit easier to tell.

Sorry I meant like straight on side shot, so we can see the stomach area as well, Like how it is in my avatar.

Hmm looks like a female in that one.

Just because she didn't flare however, does not mean that it's a female. Females flare too, in fact half of my boys don't flare at each other either so it's all in the body and of course if she's got an egg spot. But again if it's a young male, they could all have an egg spot. But this one doesn't look like it's very young.

Yeah she looks like an older female to me. Or a mature one. Oh yeah I've seen females flare, but not often. I'll look for a ovipositor when I get home in five minutes.

Coolio, then she's a female for sure with some great finnage!

She kind of reminds me of my girl Mystique, except I think Mystique is more turquoise where you have a very lovely Royal Blue. Here's Mystique half flaring at Phoenix and Aurora is just like, what's up?
