Question Betta Buddies

I was wondering if I could get a little bit of help. I'm soon going to be upgrading my lovely blue betta Ky to a bigger tank (he currently sits in a one gallon tank) and wanted to know what other fish bettas can be around. I don't want to make him miserable by getting fish he can't be around. I would appreciate any and all help. :)

Do you know the specs of your new tank? It will help determine what you can stock with your betta.

You can't really get any other fish unless that tank is 10 gallons or larger.

Stay away from tetras - they have a bad habit of nipping fins.. but gentle community fish should be fine, like platies, swordtails, guppies. In the end it will depend heavily on your betta - if he is a grumpy fish then he may not like any tank mates, which happens. So whatever you decide, make sure to watch carefully to make sure they get along for the first few days.

Check out this section, it may help give you more ideas :)

Get a 10Gal, then I would get 5 Cories. Cories are such cute fish they have awesome personalities. I personally like the Panda cories.

Don't worry, I planned on getting a 10 gallon. I don't know what species my betta is and I guess I can't really tell if he's grumpy or not. He seems nice haha.

The bettas you see on the forum are betta splendens ^_^
There are also wild bettas, but their presence on the market is very rare.
