Hi. I am new to this forum, new to bettas, and even new to fish in general. I fell in love with a crowntail betta at Petco (I know now--not the best idea, but there are no LFS where I live), and I have been researching how to keep him healthy and happy. He is currently by himself in a 12-gallon Fluval Edge aquarium. It's in the middle of its cycle, which is worrying me (I simply didn't know about cycling when I got him), but I'm doing frequent partial water changes, applying Prime when the nitrites are too high, etc.
Without further ado, here he is! Can anyone tell me what color/pattern he is considered to be? I know that his body looks purple, but his scales are actually separately the same turquoise and red as are on his fins--they just look purple from more of a distance!
