URGENT! Tumor is breaking through skin, what to do?

Hello,

I have watched my betta's tumor grow for about a month, and now it is breaking through the skin -a bubble shaped tumor/blister.

I would like a professional advice on what to do.

I have used antibiotics with no results.

Is surgery possible (with razor blade, like they do it on goldfish) to remove the tumor?

Although the tumor/blister seems to be clear (see through) could I suck it out with a syringe?

Thank you!
-Mitch

I'm assuming you use treated tap water in your water changes. Take a glass and let it sit for 5 minutes, are there bubbles? I have seen a similar thing in goldfish, the bubbles are super-concentrated amounts of oxygen called supersaturated gas. It can sometimes collect under the skin causing large bubble like blisters. http://www.goldfish-emergency.com/vi...php?page_id=68

actually, he was in a 55 gallon tank, that has dual whisper filters (waterfall) pumps. That's when the bubble started growing, I thought it was stress, so i got its own fish bowl. I have noticed high amounts of bubbles on the surface of bowl. The bowl only has a heater. I've put the water in glass, and yes the bubbles are forming in the glass as well. I use cycled water with reverse osmosis water.

Can I use syringe to pump it out gently?

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!

There was someone on here who drained a lump (cyst maybe) on their fish and walked through step by step what they had done. I can't seem to find it to post a link to it.
