Anyone have bettas that like to lay on the bottom?

So I am nursing a EE back to health. He just gave me a good scare I came to find him lying underneath the silk plant roots and the IAL on the bottom on his side. I thought he'd gotten stuck or died all of the sudden. I think he just liked being there. I got his attention and he came swimming around. He's swimming just fine.

I think I've noticed him sitting under the on the bottem leaf before. Most of my bettas prefer being on the top. Does anyone see their fish doing this?

is the EE a halfmoon?? or have long finnage?? mine is older (about 1/12 years) and I will find him lying around on plants, on the bottom, etc. He's fine, I just think he likes to rest -- his fins are quite long and heavy for him.......

My betta likes to lay in the caves at the bottom. He takes 'power naps' for a few minutes and then comes out all energetic n.n

He looks like this:

He had a cloudy eye at the store it's shrinking up I think he will end up with only one eye. That's what's healing now.

Oh wow! Poor boy
But now that he's in your care, he'll be all right!
My blind betta, Ray Charles, likes to stay towards the bottom of his tank too. He'll just sorta rest there for a while and investigate, nose around, and in general, forage for food. Honestly, he looks like a pig hunting for truffles when he does that

Ray Charles I like that name. The roots you see him by that is what he had stuck himself under and the leaf you see was laying flat. You can probably imagine my horror to come in and see fishy laying flat on his side on the bottom with just part of his body sticking out.

He came responsive and is otherwise normal but this is quirk I've not seen yet in a betta.

My EE does that too. He is fine. My EE is very anti-social.

Is Nemo a Petco betta? Mine is slow and deliberate in his movements he is a little shy but not completely anti-social. I guess he is delta tail he's so ruffley. Like fish with a petticoat.
