It's a dark day.

I went to say good morning to Judas this morning. He did not swim out as close as possible to see/inspect me. I found him in the back corner dead. I don't understand it? He was fine yesterday and I never saw any stress strips. Water parameters are great, although the pH is 7.8 which should be ok. He lived in a long 20 with many silk plants, natural polished pebbles, hammock (never used), heated at 79 F, Cascade 2000 HOB on the lowest flow, 3 female Gups, 3 Panda Corys, and a synthetic tree truck to lurk in (rarely). I feed him the best Betta pellets I could find with an occasionally froze shrimp or bloodworm. He loved the shrimp, the bloodworms not so much.

For the future, I'm not sure if I will rescue (enabling/perpetuate) a babby Betta or find the most natural finned adult?

Thanks MB, it's amazing how such a small creature can become a member of the clan; he will be missed.

On a side note. are "types" more hardy than others? I.e. shorter fins and etc...

Usually shorter finned types (females, plakat, halfmoon plakat...) can avoid fin rot and such easier... But with proper are it shouldn't matter.

I have finally discovered what Judas died from, Culmanr. I have never personaly experienced Culmanr and because of my ignorance, Judas paid with his life. I will NEVER have another Betta with as much personality. I will post in the health care forum and prepare for battle.
