Zipping Around

My Betta,Sparkle, has been zipping around his tank ever since I first let him out of his "blue Cup" I got him in 3 weeks ago and put him in his 3 Gallon tank..I put in more silk plants and a little cave and he is still zipping all around in & out...he calms down at night in the dark but during the day he goes constantly ( he stops and eats)...is this normal Betta behavior? Could he be bored?Could he be....Crazy Betta

the only explanation i can think of is maybe the light is too bright. does she get direct sunlight? my sisters betta would get a little more active for a couple minutes when she brightned the enviorment

I think he's just normal, healthy and happy.

No he is in my kitchen and ther is no sun..I dont only put his light on for a couple hours when I come home..then the light is indirect from the lights in the house...when I turn all the lights off he calms down.....untill the next morning when he sees me...

Maybe he is just happy to see you? Lol maybe hes racing back and forth thinking "food... food... FOOD"

He is quite the hungry little Dude..probebly from all the excercise he gets....Maybe he is just overjoyed to be out of the "CUP"

Mine's constantly active also, if I go anywhere near the tank he'll be right up front looking at me. He just sounds very happy.

that's how mine acts. so then i go up to the tank and tell her shes crazy and then she flares at me. mine even races around in the dark. madness i say! madness!

It is very comforting to know that Sparkle is not the only Crazy Betta...I wish I had that energy!

my betta does the same thing except he takes a little 5-10 second break after swiming around for awhile... ive had this little guy since march and hes still doin the crazy fish thing... so i guess its that he is happy
