Question Mag Float?

I have seen this product tons of times at my LFS (and play with it when no one is looking) and now I kind of want one since my planted tank is still in the initial melt stage and there is that dead plant debris junk all over the place. I am doing water changes but it's a little much to have to scrub everything down.

While I was looking online I noticed that about half of the review loved it and about half said it scratched and scuffed the walls of their tank. I don't really get how this could happen when I attack used tanks with a medical grade razor and never see a scratch, so I figure they have plastic tanks or something. BUT I wanted to see what you guys say before I get one.

Will it really scratch a glass tank?? What are your experiences with this product?

(for those of you wondering what on earth a Mag Float is, here you go http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...AvailInUS%2FNo. You're welcome :p)

I have one and it works on all but the toughest algae (what a razor is for I guess) and it never scratches the glass.

I've got one on my glass tank and one on my acrylic tank... both work great - no scratches.

+1 All 4 of my tanks are glass - the Nuvo even has rounded corners-and it has never scratched. Works well, too! The only way I can think of that it would scratch is if you got substrate caught between it and the glass. So don't do that, lol. J/K

I figured it had to be something like that... it just didn't make sense that it could happen unless those users were doing something wrong :p

My tanks are glass (Fluval) I recently got the mid-sized Mag Float and it works very well.
Just keep both parts clean.
