Opinion on a fish I was offered to breed with:

This is supposedly a Platinum White Over Half Moon betta. I have never heard of this and, he resembles my rosetail. I don't want to get another because of breeding problems. Can I get some opinions on this fish, before I respond? TY

He has excessive rays like your boy. And this guy has folded rays (look at his caudal). He also has split ventrals. Other than that, he looks ok.

Look for females with 4 rays to ensure you wont end up with roses. Choose the best of fry - wait for 6 moths or after they have fully developed. Then you'd know which is most suitable to breed further.
