It's a water proof wind up bath toy so the metal is proabably rust proof I put it water for a few days before I got alucard to make sure it wouldn't rust.

My room is about 75 during the day. yesterday he made 2 bubble nests so he likes the temperature and environment. The tube in the back is his resting hammock. He also enjoys swimming through the tube during the day. :3

Just be careful to watch for any temperature fluctuations as that can obviously stress a betta. This being said it is important to invest in a cheap thermometer so you can keep track of the temperature.

As far as the bath toy goes even if it is "rust proof" it can still leach harmful elements/chemicals into the water, you may not see them but they are there. So I would be on the safe side and remove the metal piece or the entire toy

My little guy is feisty like that too, especially when I go to remove his water heater for water changes :)

Bloodworms can be sold frozen, not freeze dries. Most bettas go crazy over them.
during the night, the temperature may lower because you have to turn his tank light off. Please think about getting a heater, especially during the colder seasons

I distracted him with his favorite chase stick. I took out the wind up part rinsed it off and put the toy back in alucard's tank. :3

I turn the tank light off at night so he will calm down and rest which he does. He thinks img someone else when my over head light is off so I turn his off b4 i sleep so he doesn't peck at the glass. :3

I'm a little worried about the tank temperature, so I'm with Mar on this one. Getting a small heater is definitely a good idea.

I'm not too sure about the live earthworms either. I'm sure he loves them, but as some others have said there isn't any way of knowing if they are harboring parasites or bacteria.
