Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? a little less bright and he is not showing off his fins
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? normally he swims to greet me and when I got home he was on the bottom of his tank not moving. I got his net out to make sure he was alive and he swam to the top to get air and then went right back down to the bottom. He normally is very hungry, so when i feed him he gets really excited, but he ignored the food right beside him. I got him to eat one pellet but he spit it back up after a few minutes.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? I have been out of town for 4 days, but my roommate fed him while i was gone. She told me he was acting normal for her. So i just noticed the difference when i got home this morning. My roommate told me she remembered to take care of him but she could have easily forgot.
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? I gave him a 50% water change
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Since I have had him, i brought him home from college for christmas break once. When we were home he did the same thing for the whole trip. I thought he just did not like the different water and the changes. When I brought him back to my apartment he acted normal.
How old is your fish (approximately)? ive had him for one year.

i wonder if your roomie maybe over fed him? he could be constipated. i would use the cooked pea method or daphnia. if you give him a day or two it should clear
