So i been breeding bettas for about six month and have about 400 fish including fry and about a month ago switched food from Hikari betta gold to NLS betta formula without any problems and lately a lot of my fish bin getting clumped fins then die shortly after. I am seeing no other symptoms then the clumped fins. Today one of my prized ee breeders developed dropsy but not sure if its related. Most of the sick fish eat till right before they die. All my fry who eat mostly bbs are fine as well as my pre adult grow out tank. I'm thinking something changed in my tap water or I got a bad batch of NLS. I am going to the pet store right now and get a water test kit some aq salt and maybe some antibiotics i am also going stop by the IAL tree and grab some leaves. Not really sure what I'm dealing with? Please help some of my very expensive breeders are not looking good!

it sounds like you don't do enough water changes and you should have a test kit make sure you buy the test tubes and not the strips they aren't very acurrate

Well i just tested my water and it was better than I thought it would be.
Ph 6.8
No3 0
No2 0
Hardnes 25
Chlorine 0
Kh 60
I am treating one fish with Maracyn two and IAL no salt
All the sick looking fish will be treated with 1tsp per gal aq salt + IAl
Then all fish will get IAL
Dose that sound like a good plan of attack?

ok but you should really look into maybe ordering a tube kit off of amazon as soon as you can!!

I'm not trying to be critical I just believe the strips aren't very accurate

ok the the ammonia is probably high because you can't really cycle a small tank.. you may want to up your water changes... I've never used those brands of meds before so I can't really tell you how much to use but I'd research it before I'd make a final decison on the meds!
